As we endevour to meet the objectives in the TTPS mission statement, the Prison's programmes department has decided to prioritize inmates' learning, which is now the central attribute of our rehabilitation and re-socialization process through coordination and communication with stakeholders. One facet of these programmes is cognitive develpoment. This approach is intended to teach inmates to think critically and to understand their development, mental and emotional status - and how they can motivate them self to change.

The programmes department pf the Trinidad and Tobago Prisons Service judges by international standards would be widely and consistently regarded as the agent of successfully assessing and managing offenders through constructive regimes; in collobration with our stakeholders they will foster and encourage permamanent change in the behaviour of TTPS charges through strategic anf creativemanagement of their sentences.
